Purple Heart Trail

"The Military Order of the Purple Heart, a national organization dedicated to honoring and preserving the memory of Purple Heart recipients from all military branches" headed a national campaign to have each state designate at least one highway as a Purple Heart Trail." See the following web page for a more complete history. http://www.purpleheart.org/purple-heart-trail.html

Nebraska's designated "Purple Heart Memorial Highway" is US-34/N-79 Intersection, SE I-80. A designated "Purple Heart Bridge" is 108th St. over I-80, Omaha. The signs are not designated for any one individual but to honor all recipients of the Purple Heart.
