Civil Rights - Title VI Compliance

What is Title VI
No person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, denied the benefit of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

Statement of Nondiscrimination
Under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes, the Nebraska Department of Roads ensures that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, religion, natural origin, age, disability, sex, or income be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits or services of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination in all programs, services or activities administered by the Nebraska Department of Roads.

All sub-recipients of Rural Transit Assistance Program (Section 5311(b)(3) and Transportation for Elderly Persons and Persons with Disabilities (Section 5310) funds must comply with all requirements pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Ace of 1987, and other non-discrimination legislation.  Resources available on this webpage include links to a brochure template, regulations, training materials and other FTA resources.  A number of the links are to resources outside of NDOR.  If you find a broken link on one of them, please contact Kari Ruse.
